Due to new government regulations regarding COVID-19, the safety of our patients and staff are of the utmost importance to us. We have implemented even tighter infection control practices in our rooms. The number of patients in our waiting room has been reduced to 7 patients at any one time. Where possible we ask that only the patient attend the appointment. Please be ready for your appointment i.e. complete your paperwork (patient detail form for new patients ) and email it back prior to your appointment. Arrive at the time of your appointment, not before. If the waiting room is at the limit we will ask that you wait outside. On arrival, please sanitise your hands with the sanitiser provided at the Medical centre's entrance or at our reception.
IMPORTANT: if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms, have returned from Overseas in the past 14 days , have had contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or waiting for outcome of Covid test results please call to reschedule your appointment as you will not be permitted to attend the practice.
Dr Nielsen will continue to consult and operate under the guidelines provided by the federal government and QLD health. Under the new Medicare guidelines, phone and telehealth (facetime /whatsapp) consultations for patients may be provided for those patients within the criteria. Please call our office for further information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
My Approach to Patient Care
Our practice provides treatment options for osteoarthritis and injuries of the lower limb including Joint Replacement Surgery, Arthroscopic Surgery, and Knee Reconstructions.
As an experienced Surgeon with more than 20 years of specialisation in Orthopaedics, I take a highly personal approach in caring for my patients. Surgery is one of many treatment options.
For Orthopaedic conditions affecting the knee and hip, I inform patients in my care of the treatment options available and the advantages and disadvantages of each. There is a lot of valuable patient information available today that can answer many of the questions a patient may have, or help to alleviate concerns. I believe that my staff and I may be your most valuable resource to address any thoughts or concerns you have in regards to your treatment, which is why we are here.
